(ANTIMEDIA) — During a press conference Wednesday night intended to update the public on the investigation into Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo told reporters that he assumes Stephen Paddock, the man who killed 59 people and injured hundreds in Las Vegas on Sunday night, must have had help.

Well, unless “maybe he’s a super guy, a super hero….” the sheriff said before changing his wording.

Watch Sheriff Lombardo discuss the department’s findings below:

“Do you think this was all accomplished on his own?” Lombardo asks himself.

You got to make the assumption he had to have some help at some point, and we want to ensure that’s the answer. Maybe he’s a super guy, super hero–not a hero, super–I won’t use the word.”

Lombardo said that while it’s possible he acted alone, ”it will be hard for me to believe that.”

Conversely, Paddock’s brother has told reporters that he believes his brother acted alone because “Steve had no help. Steve didn’t take help.”

During a lengthy press conference, Sheriff Lombardo told reporters that it appears Paddock spent decades acquiring weapons and ammunition while “living a secret life.”

“We haven’t found much about this guy; a lot of people live on social media, but he doesn’t,” Lombardo said.

Sheriff Lombardo said the piece of paper in Paddock’s hotel room was not a suicide note. He claimed authorities have seen evidence indicating that Paddock planned to survive and possibly escape, but that he could not disclose details. Lombardo announced that it was also determined that Paddock had 50 pounds of tannerite, an explosive material, 1,600 rounds of ammunition, and ammonium nitrate in his vehicle.

Sheriff Lombardo also noted that the department’s investigation had determined that “none of the cameras” from Paddock’s hotel room, where he shot and killed 59 people, were recording during the shooting, but did not specify if these security cameras were all rigged by the shooter. In this statement, he included two cameras on the room service cart out in the hallway, one on the peephole of the front door, and a baby monitor camera placed in the general family area of the hotel room.

“We are trying to prove his intent or understand his intent and the history associated with this and whether or not he has any accomplices,” Lombardo added.

Local authorities also revealed the official timeline of the massacre. The first shots Paddock fired were heard at 10:05 p.m. local time. Later, at 10:12 p.m., the first two officers arrived on the 31st floor. At 10:15 p.m., the gunman fired the last shots. Nearly an hour later, at 11:20 p.m., police entered the room.

Earlier on Wednesday, law enforcement officials told NBC News that investigators were trying to figure out the identity of a mystery woman seen with Paddock days before the Las Vegas massacre occurred.

Paddock’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, was overseas during the shooting, but has since flown back to the U.S. from the Philippines for questioningShe also told her family after the massacre to “just relax, there’s nothing for you to worry about.”

Despite Sheriff Lombardo’s claim, police say they do not have anyone in mind as Paddock’s potential accomplice. The motive remains unknown.
